We were at Kroger and were going to buy a Granny Smith apple for scones tonight. Emma sees some granny smith and wants to get them;Anne Michal told her we weren’t going to get those because they were organic. Emma wanted to know what that meant and Anne Michal told her that meant they were more expensive.
WHen I told her that wasn’t really what organic meant, she was able to tell Emma what it meant for a food to be organic but I thought her original definition was funny.
I am always seeing crazy things when out and about. Today I was driving down 29th street and passed the corner of 29th and Villa Maria, and the BK/Rattlers there had an electric sign that said:
Cold? Come on in to Rattlers for a cup of coffee.
They were kidding, right? Isn’t it time to advertise slushies or something?
My children were quite insistent that I post this on my blog. Cara Beth had a great time at lunch today. For dessert we had banana splits a la Peggy. Cara Beth LOVED hers. Since you weren’t there to take any pictures, Kiersten took care of that for you. First Cara Beth developed a beard:
But don’t worry, she knew to try to lick it off rather than shave it!!!! She was quite a cute mess!!!
Last night Anne MIchal played in a piano concert. She played at the same time as 19 other students. 10 pianos and 2 people at each piano. I managed to get 30 seconds of it on video.
Last post of the day;I promise!! If you went to Kiersten’s blog below and looked at the pictures you saw this one
This is how I like to eat my pancakes which is very helpful when you have gestational diabetes or just like a well-balanced meal. You take your pancake which really should be a whole wheat buttermilk pancake because they really are the best and good for you. On top of your pancake you pile on some cottage cheese. I have this weird thing where I have to have mine slightly sugared; a mere sprinking will do it. THen add a little flax meal (or not), and top with strawberries or blueberries. Eat and enjoy. Sometimes I also spread a thin layer of allfruit on the pancake before the cottage cheese. Let me know if you try it.
My friend Kiersten has been visiting this week with her kids. It has been great to have her and the kids here with us. She has been the official picture taker this week and has posted pictures on her blog of the week so I am being lazy and sending you to her site rather than reposting here.
There are two new swimmers in the house. Emma and Jack have both passed their swim lessons and are moving on up to the next level as they like to say. Both of them can jump off the side of the pool and swim to their teacher and back today. I’ll have to see if I can get a video next week.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting in my new home. Too bad we can’t share a cuppa and some chocolate. First thing you need to know is that I have a new blog with my friend Kiersten. Check it out here.
